CRITERIA
When I started this project I created criteria that I would have to of completed by the time I was finished with my project and my criteria was:
Arrange an interview with the Sheldrick Trust which is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the wildlife in Kenya, in particular orphaned elephants.
Create a short video on elephant rescuing and poaching.
Interview a wildlife photographer to ask whether they have seen any changes in the number of elephants over the years.
Help at least one elephant
Research and understand the reason behind elephant poaching

GLOBAL CONTEXT
My global context is Globalization and Sustainability and my inquiry question is
"what can I do at my age to help reduce the number of elephants being poached".
As a teenager I can't physically go fight the poachers myself but I can raise as much awareness as possible.

INTRODUCTION
My project is focused on elephant poaching and rescuing, from what it has been like for the past couple of years since the numbers of elephants started to decline, questions like why are elephants being poached, why have we not stopped illegal ivory trade, what can we do to stop the decline and looked into organisations trying to help.
PLANNING
I knew from the beginning I wanted to do something to raise awareness and after a bit thought I decided a short video would be the best way to communicate my ideas and raise awareness. I did plenty of research from reading countless articles, interviewing people who work for in organisations fighting the battle, watching documentaries done on the issue and read a few books on the issue. During the planning phase I realised that the problem of elephant poaching was much deeper than I thought and I needed to put more structure into the way I wanted the product to come out, but after seeing how big the problem was it made me ore motivated to put more work and information into my product.
TAKING ACTION
How I did It
I have always been intrigued by the subject of this project, that's why when it came to the action part of the process I was eager to start, I took the research from before and started thinking about how I wanted it to all come together to create the vision I wanted. When it came to actually making the video I had no idea what to do, as I had never edited a video in my life! I needed to gather everything I wanted to be in the video and make it all work together somehow, this was the hardest part of the project and it was editing and creating the actual product. I had never used tools before like Premier Pro or iMovie and had no prior knowledge when it came to editing, for that reason I had to teach myself a completely new skill. It was at this time that I knew I didn't want to become a video editor, but this made me work harder to get to my final goal of finishing my product.
